Propulsion system no. 22 to Rostein AS

Rostein AS recently announced the contracting of another 2,800 m3 new building at Larsnes Mekaniske Verksted AS, which will be completed in June 2021. The ship will be designed by Skipskompetanse AS and Finnøy Gear & Propeller will be responsible for supplying the propulsion system for the company's newest venture.

Rostein and Larsnes Mek. Verksted are two of Finnøy's most frequent customers. The long-lasting customer relationship between the shipping company and Finnøy was established back in 1991 when the 15 m long "Roskjær" was built at Aas Mek. Verksted AS. Since then, Rostein has commissioned further 20 ships with propulsion from Finnøy, leaving the total order number to 22.

Finnøy has also delivered a propulsion plant to the world's first battery hybrid well boat, "Ro Vision", which symbolizes the start of the green shift in the well boat industry. The wellboat was completed at Larsnes Mek. Verksted AS to Rostein AS in March 2020 and has been hired to SalMar in the municipality of Frøya for the next eight years. Larsnes Mekaniske Verksted is one of the country's leading construction yards within the fishing and wellboat segment. Since 1995, Finnøy Gear & Propeller has had the pleasure of working closely with the yard and has supplied propulsion solutions for a total of 22 new buildings.
